Although originally from Montreal, Canada, I spent my childhood falling in love with California’s golden hillsides and sweeping vistas. Honoring the tradition of the early plein air painters, I strive to convey the atmosphere, depth, and drama of the modern painted landscape.
Exploring the plein air approach with acrylics, I work with thin layers of paint and transparent washes, building the pigment until I achieve depth and intensity. It’s inspiring to capture the range of color that nature holds – and so gratifying when you make it glow!
A graduate of CSU Fullerton, I followed a twenty year career in Illustration and Graphic Arts, and am now happily immersed in painting full time. It is my high honor to be amongst the participating artists at Laguna Beach’s prestigious Festival of Arts each summer. I enjoy creative involvement in groups like Southern California Plein Air Artists Association (SOCALPAPA), LPAPA, and am also a contributing artist with the Crystal Cove Alliance.
I paint plein air anywhere possible, and then finish the work at my home studio in Laguna Niguel, California, with my husband Scott as a constant source of encouragement.
